Range Wins Twice in RFTs Best of 2012!

The Riverfront Times came out with their “Best of 2012″ this week, and Baileys’ Range was a winner in two categories: Best Decor and Best Ice Cream Parlor!

Range’s decor was a creative collaboration between Brynne Rinderknecht and Dave Bailey.

All of Range’s ice cream is made in house from scratch and preservative-free.

Baileys’ Restaurants at Art of Food

On 9/22, Range and her sister restaurant counterparts, participated in Slow Food’s annual fundraiser Art of Food which celebrates restaurants and local businesses which serve and use local products and proteins.

Slow Food is a non-profit, eco-gastronomic, member-supported organization that was founded in 1989 to counteract fast food and fast life, the disappearance of local food traditions, and people’s dwindling interest in the food they eat, where it comes from, how it tastes, and how our food choices affect the rest of the world.

The menu featured all four meals of the day (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert–representing all four restaurants) which all featured different parts of pork that was taken from the same whole hog. We served: breakfast veggie and sausage strata [Rooster], a pork steak and Emmenthaler sandwich with chimichurri [Bridge], pork belly over a spicy polenta cake [Range], and salted caramel ice cream with candied bacon.

RFT’s Favorite St. Louis Dishes

The Riverfront Times’ blog Gut Check has been compiling a list of it’s 100 favorite dishes in St. Louis and the Mojito Shake at Range made the cut!

Hitting the list at Number 45, the Mojito Shake has been winning over St. Louians (and beyond!) left and right. You can read more about this delicious housemade treat here.

The First Annual Schurcipefones Festival

Living in St. Louis? Love our local craft beer scene? So do we! Which is why we’re celebrating the end of St. Louis Craft Beer Week with a block party in front of Bridge Tap House and Wine Bar.

Please join us for the closing ceremonies (and a whole lot more) on Sunday, August 5th from 12-6pm. Your ticket will include unlimited sampling from these great local brewers: Schlafly, Charleville, Urban Chestnut, Civil Life, Perennial, Four Hands, New Belgium (out of town guest), and Second Shift. Each brewer will be bringing new and special release beers including all of the new Baileys’ beers.

Other activities will include: a children’s book reading from Left Bank Books, games and prizes, a raffle, bicycle safety checks provided by Big Shark, food available for purchase by Baileys’ Range, live music by The Highway Companion, Broke Neck, and The Lone Rangers, and live demonstrations by the non-profit Perennial. The whole family is invited!

Just who is Schurcipefones you might ask? Well she’s the lost Greek goddess of local beer! Her name might also be an acronym for all the great brewers involved ;)

Proceeds from the Schurcipefones Festival will benefit the non-profit Perennial and Aim High!

Whole Foods Grass-Fed Burger Competition

Baileys’ Range competed in the grass-fed burger competition at Whole Foods Galleria on Wednesday, July 11 from 6-8pm. Over 700 hungry St. Louisans turned up hoping to find their perfect burger. Six local restaurants went head-to-head competing to win $500 for the charity of their choice. Baileys’ Range was competing on behalf of St. Louis Foodbank. Here are some photos of the event. Hope to see you all next year!

Baileys' Smoked Bacon Cheeseburger

Our burger was made up of: a roma tomato and pickle relish, bibb lettuce, heirloom tomato, candied bacon, a smoked burger stuffed with a chimay/fontina blend, and rooster sauce all on a Schlafly Oatmeal Stout housemade bun! Really, it was amazing.
